COAS General Asim Munir graces PSL 10 match in Rawalpindi

In a powerful blend of sports and patriotism, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 resumed in Rawalpindi on Saturday after a brief suspension due to recent tensions between India and Pakistan. But it wasn’t just cricket that drew thousands to the stadium—it was also a heartfelt tribute to the brave men and women of the Pakistan armed forces.

Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium came alive as fans witnessed more than just the clash between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had announced that PSL 10 would be dedicated to the country's armed forces, turning the tournament into a celebration of national pride. Saturday was set aside to honour the Pakistan Army, while the upcoming Sunday and Monday will pay tribute to the Navy and Air Force, respectively.

Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir and DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry were among the distinguished guests who attended the match, making the occasion even more memorable. Before the game kicked off, a solemn minute of silence was observed in remembrance of the martyrs who lost their lives defending the nation during the recent cross-border conflict.

Emotions ran high as soulful musical tributes took over the stadium. Asrar Shah’s patriotic anthem "Main Pakistan Hoon" and Sahir Ali Bagga’s stirring performance moved the crowd, many of whom waved Pakistani flags with pride. The stands echoed with chants of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Pak Army Zindabad”, turning the cricket match into a national celebration.

Karachi Kings set the pace on the field, posting a mammoth target of 238 runs against Peshawar Zalmi. But the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the atmosphere—one filled with love for the country and gratitude for its defenders.

The night ended with a dazzling fireworks display, lighting up the Rawalpindi sky in green and white.
